About Ruth

​​

Ruth has her Masters degree in social work achieved through studies in Ontario and Manitoba. Her graduate work focus was on anticipatory grief, for people supporting someone with a life-limiting illness. She provides individual, couple, family and group therapy in her office or in the community. Ruth is a registered social worker in Manitoba, a member of Canadian Group Psychotherapy Association and the American Group Psychotherapy Association. As well, she is member of the Quality Senior Services group in Winnipeg. Currently her practise has an older adult specialization although she is capable of assisting people of all ages. Her on-going education includes further developing her group leadership skills, clinical sensitivity to grief and loss, family narratives in later life stages and ethics relating to end-of-life decision-making.

Ruth has presented at a variety of conferences and workshops locally and within Canada. Her relaxed manner assists groups to learn about matters of the heart and mind. Whether it is a lunch & learn seminar or full day staff development workshops Ruth is capable of providing the expertise to meet your non-profit agency or professional group’s needs.
